It is located on the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula, This biosphere reserve which is practically un inhabited, contains tropical forests, mangroves and marshes, as well as a large marine section intersected by the second largest reef barrier in the world which runs in parallel to the Sian Ka’an reserve and the Mexico Caribbean Coast. It provides a habitat for a remarkably rich flora and a fauna counting more than 300 species of birds, as well as a large number of the region's characteristic terrestrial vertebrates, which cohabit in the diverse environment formed by its complex hydrological system. The Sian Ka'an Reserve is home to the region's wildlife, such as jaguars, jaguarundis, howler monkeys, tapirs; crocodiles, turtles and manatees; millions of birds and many more.

 

Montebello Lakes where you can discover and admire a protected Ecological1 TEN thousand Acre National Park counting over 65 lakes with emerald green colors, changing to light blue turquoise.
