Only 60 Kms South East of the City of Campeche you can visit EDZNA archeological Site. Edzna had a consistent population in its surroundings and was founded 600 years BC and reached its maximum splendor in the Year 1000 AC. It has many buildings and monuments and very specially a Central Ceremonial plaza the size of a big foot ball field with grades where you can whisper and be heard loudly on the other side of the field. Its highest building is a 5 story pyramid and a must on your visit is the Temple of The Masks enlightened with a virtual light and sound showing.
 
In the vicinity of Edzna, on your way back to Campeche, you can visit Hacienda Hobomo and the Colonial Village of Uzacil.
