Ixtapa is a wonderful uncongested vacation spot and Zihautanejo is a nice medium size city, but both are far from offering any type of World Class Shopping. Nevertheless, you will find nice jewelry and Silver from the near by Sierra Mines, nice ceramic hand made pieces with the exclusive Talavera painting or clay hand painted from the local State of Guerrero. You will also find nice Local Beach wear and Ixtapa or Zihuatanejo T shirts and souvenirs. Arts and crafts are nice to watch, where you will witness the Art and Creativity of Mexican Artisans from all over the Country. Ixtapa Shopping Center has its section of this type of items, but if you go to Zihuatanejo, starting on the water front and 5 blocks in, you will find many shops that you might want to check out. In Zihuatanejo, visit the Artisans Market on Cinco de Mayo Street and the Municipal Market on Benito Juárez Avenue some 5 blocks from the shore line.
