People do spend most of the day on these hypnotic beaches where you can’t take your eyes of the beautiful color and cleanness of the Ocean. From the beach, you can practice sailing on small boats, go kayaking, windsurfing in addition to other water sports that the area offers with plenty assortment to choose from. Mazatlan is also famous for deep Sea fishing and every year has fishing tournaments where the challenge is the catch of Marlin, sale fish and other species, abundant in the Sea of Cortes contained by the quite faraway Baja Peninsula.
But you won’t want to stay confined to your hotel. Mazatlan city is a Mexican town full of attractions, traditions, History and cultural values. You can visit the museum, the Historic District with its Colonial areas built by the missionaries in the 16th and 17thCenturies. Mazatlan’s Cathedral is a must when going down town. The Cathedral has well defined architectonical value and the inside is of outstanding beauty. City Hall as in most Cities in Mexico, shows the tradition of so many years of organization and government ruling since the Spaniard Colonial domination of the Country.
Other attractions you may not want to miss are The Mazatlan Aquarium with entertaining shows, The Market in Old Mazatlan ideal to experience the way of life of the Mazatlan people, Stone Island is a "side trip" worth taking with Horseback riding, snorkeling (except during jellyfish season), kayaking, and "banana boat" rides. The Malecon along the waterfront is a wonderful place to spend time and stroll around after dinner.
