Schedule and visit San Angel with Plaza San Jacinto with a big flee market type of shopping, where select painters display and sell their works. You will also see extraordinary exhibition of arts and crafts as well as specialized artisan works. The best day to visit is Saturdays. From Plaza San Jacinto you are 2 kilometers from the Mexico National University Campus an enormous complex inaugurated in the Mid Fifties with worldwide recognition. About 5 kilometers from the University, you can go to the ancient and charming village of Coyoacan and visit Frida Kalo’s museum, with paintings and art work by Frida and Diego, in addition to Coyacan’s central Square. Continue your trip south towards Xochimilco, with the floating crops, where people today harvest the same way as the Pre-Hispanic groups did when the city was mostly covered by lakes.

Traffic is very heavy and slow. It is recommended you take guided tours featuring attractions you might want to see. They will know their way around and get you to cover more places on a quite approximate Itinerary. If you want to go Shopping, the Historic District has many shops and Department Stores and you may find better prices than in the huge outskirt malls. If going, use only registered taxies from your hotel or call a radio operated company when elsewhere.
