Veracruz Smooth and Intense Night Life

Veracruz with its Jarocho Spirit is the City of Music, Rhythm and Tradition. People seem to be dancing around, always with a big smile on their face and always with something nice to say that might enlighten the day. Tourists do flow in from many cities in Mexico and a few international visitors. In the Historic Center of the City you will have street music outside restaurants and bars starting .mid morning and in the Boca del Rio traditional sea food restaurant area, starting at noon. Bars and Pubs in the Historic District will be serving food after 9:00AM. The most Popular will be the ones around the Central Square.

To start your evening, as the Sun Goes down and the breeze refreshes the Malecon area, a stroll along the Port water front walkway, will place you at the spot where locals and tourists mingle. As you turn back towards the town, people go to the Central Plaza, which is surrounded by many open air Restaurant-Bars. You may sit at one of these bars and watch the people drift by along the side walk or on the Center of the Main Square. Music will be sounding all around, but it will be very special on Thursday or Sunday Serenades sponsored by the Municipality.

There are many places to choose from. Directly on the Central Square you may drop in to Bar Palacio famous for its Mint Juleps and Special Baguette sandwiches. Others equally famous are Imperial, Colonial, Chicote all of course with very cold beer and sea food specialties. A block around from this Big Plaza, you will find other type of Bars starting at 11:00 as the bars on the Central Plaza slow down, such as Caliente, El Rincon de la Trova and Discoteques such as La Casona de la Condesa and Barroko. On the other side of Town at the Boca del Rio Hotel Zone, you will also find clubs, mostly operated by different hotels.
