Villahermosa attractions should consider La Venta Park and Museum, which shows the History and the Culture of Tabasco. Very specially the Heritage of the Olmeca Civilization dating from 1000 BC, was brought from the Archeological zone of la Venta, 130 kilometers from Villahermosa. It shows the Gigantic Olmeca Heads, as well as other stone Pre-Hispanic sculptures, all as they were in their original Setting. These testimonials as well as engraved stalls, altars and portraits where relocated at the end of the fifties, due to Drilling for oil. Today you can live La Venta without leaving Villahermosa and also see the Zoo with most outstanding animal species from this superb Ecological Region. Additionally enjoy the Ilusiones Lagoon. Another attraction in Villahermosa is the Museum of Natural History located at Garrido Canabal Park, next to La Venta Park. You will compare the evolution of Mankind with the Eco Systems of the State of Tabasco.  Tabasco Park on the outskirts of the Tabasco 2000 Urban Complex, almost across the highway from La Venta Park has over One Million Sq. Meters and includes a Dolphin Show, a Theater  and plenty of green areas.


Another must in Villahermosa is the Regional Museum of Anthropology Carlos Pellicer which worships one of the best historic collections of the aborigine Pre-Hispanic Olmecas and Mayas. It shows drawings and miniature constructions of the Pre-Hispanic Sites in order to acknowledge and understand the development of these ancient societies.  Museo de Cultura Popular is the place with the exhibit of the arts and crafts, costumes, ceremonial traditions and musician instruments from the different regions and ethnic groups of Tabasco.  Up date your Astrological knowledge by visiting Villaheromsa´s  Planetarium located in the Urban Complex Tabasco 2000. Main present religious centers with a lot of History and architectural value are Templo de la Concepción and the Catedral del Señor de Tabasco. Evenings, locals will meet at the central square where some evenings you might get serenades and folk music. Your hotel concierge will let you know activities.


Outside of Villahermosa, there are many activities and places to visit on your own or with professionally organized tours. The sate is divided in four regions the Mountains, The Chocolate Area, The Rivers and The swamps. Nevertheless, the biggest Tourist attraction using the Airport of Villahermosa is Palenque only 2 hours south of Villahermosa. It is one of the Pre-classic largest Maya Archeological sites.


From Huimanguillo at the foot of the Mountains, you will find a Nature preservation program Agua y Selva, with cascading rivers, exotic trees, jungle, bird species a real adventure in a wonderful Ecologic setting. Nearby, Rivers Amatan & Oxolotan, provide Sulphur water bathing, cascades, caves and nice thick foliage.  In the Chocolate area go to the Archeological Area of Comalcalco, the ethnic town of Nacajuca and the Coco Nut growing beach area of Paraiso. The River Area will be around Macuspana where many communities are only reached by boat and where supply merchants also use the rivers to deliver their goods. The swamps area or immediate to the Port of Frontera North East of the City of Villahermosa is an all day Ecology guided tour to a Protected Rain Forest Area visting Frontera Reserva de la Biosfera, Pantanos de Centla, Nueva Esperanza, Pico de Oro, Playa Azul, Miramar, JONUTA With Omar Huerta Archeological Museum ……
